1. Our Two Privacy Commitments

At VaultAI, privacy is not a marketing slogan — it's our product. We operate under two separate privacy realities:

  1. VaultAI Devices & Software 

    • Runs entirely on your own hardware.

    • No cloud, no tracking.

    • Nothing you say, write, or create with VaultAI ever leaves your device.

    • We do not collect, store, or transmit your AI conversations, documents, images, or any other locally processed data.

    • VaultAI requires no network connection to operate. Turn your wifi off and every model, document and image still works.

     

  2. VaultAI Online Store & Website (Powered by Shopify)

    • Necessary to process orders, ship products, and provide customer support.

    • Hosted and managed through Shopify, which may collect and process certain personal information to complete transactions.

    • This policy describes only the personal information collected through the online store and related customer interactions — it does not apply to your use of VaultAI devices or software.

     

2. When the App Connects to the Internet

VaultAI does not need an internet connection, and none of your content is ever sent anywhere. There are exactly two cases where the application reaches the network, and neither transmits anything about you or your work:

  • Update check. When you open the app, it checks our public release page to see whether a newer version exists. This request sends no personal data, no usage data, and nothing from your conversations or files. If you're offline, the check fails silently and the app carries on as normal.

  • Web search (optional, only when you use it). If you run a web search from inside VaultAI, that search query — and only that query — is sent to DuckDuckGo to fetch results. Your conversation, your documents, and your identity are not. If you never use web search, nothing is ever sent.

There is no telemetry, no analytics, no crash reporting, no account, and no cloud sync. We do not know who our customers are, what they ask, or when they use the product.

3. Information We Collect Through the Store

When you purchase from our online store, create an account, or interact with our customer support, we may collect:

  • Contact Information – Name, billing/shipping address, phone, email.

  • Payment Information – Credit/debit card details (processed securely by Shopify or our payment provider — we do not store card numbers).

  • Account Information – Username, password, preferences.

  • Order Details – Products purchased, returns, exchanges.

  • Device & Usage Data – IP address, browser type, and site navigation behavior (collected by Shopify to operate the store).

 

4. How We Use Store Data

We use store-related personal information only to:

  • Process payments, fulfill orders, and ship products.

  • Provide customer support and manage returns or warranty requests.

  • Maintain your account and purchase history.

  • Send order confirmations and product updates (you can opt out of marketing at any time).

  • Meet legal and tax obligations.

We do not use store data for training AI models, and it is not linked in any way to your private, offline AI usage.

 

5. How Shopify Uses Data

Our store is hosted on Shopify. Shopify provides us with the online e-commerce platform and processes your personal information in accordance with their own Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy. Shopify may use your store interaction data (e.g., purchases, browsing) across other merchants' stores for analytics and advertising purposes unless you opt out.

 

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access or request a copy of your store data.

  • Request correction or deletion of your store data.

  • Opt out of marketing communications.

  • Opt out of certain data sharing/targeted advertising.

7. Security

  • All store transactions are encrypted via SSL.

  • Payments are processed by secure PCI-compliant providers.

  • VaultAI never stores payment card numbers.

  • Your VaultAI device does not connect to Shopify, and never sends us your conversations, documents, or any other content — all AI processing happens on your own hardware.

 

8. International Transfers

If you purchase from outside the U.S., your store data may be processed in countries that do not have the same data protection laws as your home country. Shopify uses recognized legal safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for such transfers.
